These words show how he drank completely, and his love language was wine. He appreciates his sweetness, warmth, and elegance with different flavors of wine. He can’t express his addiction in words other than alcohol, and now he really appreciates you helping him.
He then reiterates to his mistress that his addiction is better than any alcohol because she is a bar to him of love, care, grace, and warmth, all of which he once sought in bars. The conclusion he gives us is that it doesn’t matter that love finds its way and is more addictive than alcohol.
