Rowan Atkinson Biography
Mr Bean was born on 6 January 1955 in Newcastle, England. His early studies were at Newcastle before he went to Oxford, where he obtained a degree in electrical engineering. While at Oxford, he began to play small roles. His reputation in the small theatre spread to the BBC, where he ran a small comedy show on BBC Radio. To appear behind the camera’s microphone, he wrote a series called Nine O’Clock in 1981 and presented it to the BBC.

Rowan Atkinson was born on January 6, 1955 in County Durham, England. He was the youngest of four brothers, but his eldest brother Paul died when he was a toddler.
Atkinson attended Durham Choir School, St Bees’ School, and graduated from Newcastle University with a degree in Engineering. He then continued his studies, particularly with a degree in electrical engineering at Oxford University.
