On June 20, 2022, an agent for Johnny Depp said that the Oscar nominee denied reports that the actor will reprise the role that is now iconic for $300 million.
The actor’s agent claimed that his client was dismissed from the Disney franchise because his wife Amber Heard published a 2018 opinion piece published in The Washington Post in which she claimed to be an abuse victim. The agent claimed Depp was unable to collect the $22.5 million salary due to this essay. The Finding Neverland star sued Heard for defamation in relation to the article. He was ultimately granted $10.35 Million in damages.
Who Is Writing Pirates 6?
In June 2020 Pirates 6 was written by Craig Mazin and Ted Elliot who took over from Deadpool writer Rhett Reese, and Paul Wernick. The two writers were hired in the year 2018 and then resigned in 2019.
Elliot is an experienced veteran of the Pirates franchise who wrote his 2003’s The Curse of the Black Pearl and its subsequent three sequels, along with his co-writer in the midst, Terry Rossio.
Mazin was the one who, in his own way was the writer of The Hangover films and Scary Movie Mazin also wrote his Emmy award-winning HBO show Chernobyl.
What Is Margot Robbie’s Pirates Movie?
Bruckheimer has stated that two distinct Pirates films are currently being made one of which follows the events in Dead Men Tell No Tales (the Mazin/Elliot Project) and another that is starring Margot Robbie.
The Hollywood Reporter announced that Robbie and Birds of Prey screenwriter Christina Hodson will be teaming up to create a brand new installment within the series. The female-fronted spinoff will feature the story in a totally new way that isn’t connected to the earlier Pirates films.
Who’s Directing Pirates 6?
Joachim Ronning is set to take over the director’s chair for the Mazin/Elliot movie. He was the co-director of the previous Pirates film together with Espen Sandberg and has not yet been announced for a sixth film.
Ronning is a Norwegian filmmaker who has been close to Sandberg since his childhood. He’s also famous for his directing of 2019, which is Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, and a second Disney sequel.
