Michelle Blair, 36, killed her son Stephen, 9, and daughter Stoney, 13, just nine months apart. Both children were brutally tortured before her death. Mitchell killed Stephen in August 2012, placing a garbage bag on his head, punching and kicking repeatedly, pouring boiling water on his genital area, and then strangling him with a black belt with his bare hands in the middle of his apartment. Then she wrapped it in her favorite quilt, put it in a black plastic bag, and put it in the freezer. The following May, Stoney, 13, was murdered by her mother in a similar fashion to her late brother, but not strangled.
Michelle Blair has fully defended what she committed as she felt she was protecting her youngest child, whose identity has yet to be established. Blair defended the murders of her two children; in fact, in court, Blair repeatedly stated that Stephen and Stoney were not her children and that she had only two children, both of whom were her mother.
A neighbor lost no time to reveal the whereabouts of Michelle Blair. Police found her and her two children, 8 and 17, at another neighbor’s house, but her other children, Stephen Gage Berry, 9, and Stoney Ann, 13 Blair are missing.
After a brief interrogation, Mitchell Blair was arrested on murder charges. When the police took her away, they said she said, “I’m sorry.”
Meanwhile, authorities took the body to the morgue to thaw for three days so that an autopsy could be carried out. The children were identified as Blair’s children Stephen Berry and Stoney Blair. The medical examiner ruled their deaths a homicide and determined they had spent at least a few years in the refrigerator.

Michelle Blair pleaded guilty to murder in Wayne County Circuit Court. She told Judge Dana Hathaway she killed her “demon” after discovering her youngest child had been raped, a claim that was never confirmed.
Blair said she came home one day in August 2012 to find her son was using a doll to simulate sex. That’s when Blair asked him: “Why did you do that? Has anyone done it to you?
When he told her her brother Stephen had done it, she went upstairs to confront him. Blair said he admitted it, and that’s when she started punching and kicking and then placing a garbage bag over his head until she lost consciousness.
Blair said she repeatedly poured boiling water on her genitals, causing her skin to peel off. She later made Stephen drink Windex and tied a leash around her son’s neck, picked him up, and asked, “Do you like the feeling of being suffocated by the leash?” Blair said she passed out again.
After two weeks of torture, Stephen died of his injuries on August 30, 2012. Michelle Blair put her body in the freezer.
Nine months after killing Stephen, Blair said she discovered Stoney was also raping her youngest child. That’s when she started starving Stoni and brutally beating her until her death in May 2013. She said she planned to turn herself in to the police but made other preparations when her youngest son told her she didn’t want to let her go.
Mitchelle Blair put Stone’s body in a plastic bag and placed it in the refrigerator above Stephen’s head, and she continued to live in the house as if nothing had happened.
Stephen Gage Berry and Stoni Ann Blair have been in the fridge for nearly three years without anyone looking for them. Their parents were absent, and Blair had previously dropped them out of school. She told school officials that she would teach them at home. When neighbors inquired about the whereabouts of the child, she always made excuses.
