Early life
Lil Durk was born on October 19, 1992, in Chicago, Illinois, and grew up in the hustle and bustle neighborhood of Englewood on Chicago’s South Side. His real name is Durk D. Banks, better known by his famous name Lil Durk.
What a terrible thing to be growing up on these streets, as if his father, Donny Banks, was in and out of jail for a long time when Durk was a kid. His father was arrested and imprisoned when he was only seven months old. Due to the economic crisis, his mother worked as a nurse.
Durke later said his father was arrested for six cracked bricks worth about $8 million.
In one of his magazine interviews, Duke recalled not having enough food at home when he was a teenager. They lived in a beautiful house and had everything, but when Durke’s father, Tang Tai, was arrested, he was sentenced to life in prison for it.
